THE BEST YET

Helloooooo, I hope you've all had as good a Christmas as I have, I can honestly say with hand on heart that this year was the best yet.
With my big boy and my Mum joining us for Christmas day and more family visiting Boxing day, it has been filled with love, fun and laughter.
We been so busy enjoying each others company that I totally forgot about taking pics, all though my little man has been rather snap happy with his new Vtech camera, I'm looking forward to loading his pics onto my laptop and seeing what he's come up with.

Finances were tight this year so a lot of cut backs were made when it came to pressies but we all (children included) appreciated what we did have a lot more.
That said, I was still thoroughly spoilt by my loved ones.....................................

Lots of my fave soap and glory smellies

Delicious Yankee votives.................................

Gorgeous print.............................................

from my big boy

Fabulous doodle books...................................................

from a very dear friend, can't wait to get my pro markers out and start doodling.

Books, books, books.............................................

What a great selection, these should keep me going for a while!

I feel a little sad that that's it, all over now for another year but I am looking forward to spending quality time with my man and kiddies over the next week whilst they're all home and catching up with my bestie, I've not seen her for 3 whole days, I'm getting serious best friend withdraw.

I'm hoping to even start crafting again, so many ideas whizzing around in my head, I'm really not sure where to start.

I'm off now to hide my girls 'Bop It', she has been driving Me nuts on it 'hehe'!

Simple Crafting

This morning, I needed a crafty fix, so with a yummy mug of egg nog .....................................

at my side, I began.

First up was a doily banner to hang my cards from...........................................

So simple, I just folded the doilies in half over bakers twine and glued and the red spotty doilies from Sue (see yesterdays post) fit in perfectly with my Christmas decor.

Beautiful handmade card..................................................

 from my dear friend Kandi.

Another..........................................

from another darling friend, Judith.

Both such creative clever ladies!

Next year, I will make my cards, I say that every year 'hehe'

Another thing I say every year is that I will make reindeer food, well this year, with a little inspiration from Twinkles, Tutus and Twirls, I have..................................

I am extremely happy with how this has turned out and think even my Girl at 13 will love this.................................................

Two very simple little progects but gave Me the crafty fix I needed!

Off to visit a friend now, just hoping I can dodge the rain!

Feeling Christmassy

I'm feeling very Christmassy indeed now and spent last night getting on with some wrapping whilst watching GLEE, a lovely Christmassy episode and eating yummy macaroons.....................................

A treat from my man and a delicious one at that, such a shame they are so pricey but maybe that's a good thing as I could very easily overload on them.

I still have lots of wrapping to do but now that school's out I think I will rope my girl in to helping Me.
I do love the school holidays and can never understand these parents who moan about having the children home.
No, I'm not blessed with perfectly behaved children, I just enjoy their company, especially in the mornings when they're still snuggly and we can be lazy together.

My little Man woke this morning appearing much worse than yesterday but has now thankfully perked up and I'm very happy to say is pretty much back to his usual self, he's still full of snots and coughs but looks like he'll be all better in time for Christmas.

It's going to be a much simpler one this year and to be perfectly honest I'm quite pleased about that.
Money is tight so serious cutbacks have been made, less presents, more appreciation I think.
This will be the first year that the little man has a full understanding of what's happening so that makes it all the more fun.

I can't wait to see him open his Tower of Doom on Christmas morning and with his big brother being here too, we are going to have lots of fun playing with it.

I'm looking forward to a New Year too,  2011 hasn't been a bad one, in fact I will carry lots of happy memories into 2012 but it's not been an easy one, I think to be honest it has been quite tough for many.

Yesterday, I discovered through 'Dottie Angel' a new book.....................................

A real feast for the eyes by the looks of it but sadly it's not published in English untill June, still that gives Me plenty of time to save some pennies 'hehe'

Eline also has a beautiful blog and if you've not already visited her then I urge you to do so, such eye candy.

I have had fun opening my next 2 advent gifts..........................................

Day 15......................................

In the words of 'Dottie Angel' herself.............................a perfectly peachy DA notebook.......................................

I think I will use this one for all my bloggy notes.

Day 16..............................................

Beautiful polka dot doilies...........................................

You can see what I sent Sue here.

I'm off to make Christmas cake now, a little late I know, I wasn't going to bother but am cheating 'hehe'
The 'Mary Berry' bag with everything (well nearly everything) included was on offer in Tescos for only £3 (cheaper than my macaroons) so I bought it as a little treat for my Man as he's generally the only one who eats it.

I am looking forward to the smell wafting around my house later.

Have a wonderful weekend, I have fingers crossed for snow here!

Clever Friends and Advent Catch Up

Two posts in one day, anyone would think I was bored!

Actually I am, however much I love snuggles with my little man, I really am not good at just sitting especially when it involves sitting in front of CBeebies all day.

With my Man now home and able to take over the snuggling, I think it's time for Me to find something to do especially as they're a bout to watch Star Wars....................................boooooooooooring!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look what I received from my lovely friend Kandipanndi today.......................................

Isn't it beautiful and isn't Lisa clever?

Taking pride of place on my tree for now, I will be finding somewhere more permenant to hang it once Christmas is over!

I've also opened 2 more gifts from Sue at The Krafty Cupcake for my advent swap................................................

Day 13.........................................

Such perfect gifts for Me!

Coughs and Sneezes

My poor baby...................................

It's one thing after another at the moment, Nursery is really taking it's toll on him.

Lot's of snuggles, stories and calpol are needed today and hopefully some baking for Mummy too.
I always feel the need to reach for the mixing bowl when my babies are sick, wanting to make them something yummy.
Simple iced buns or sugar cookies normally does the trick!

Talking of baking, my gorgeous daughter has started her own blog which will be revolved around just that.........................BAKING!

I know she would be over the moon if you payed her a visit at Jessielicious

As I sit here all snug and cosy with a delicious latte in hand...........................................

I can hear the rain pelting down on the windows and I'm thankful that the biggest decision I have to make today is............................................weather to get dressed or not 'hehe'

I do LOVE a PJ day!

Tuesday 13 December 2011

What a day!

Picture the scene.................................

Me............................................

Wet, very very wet

Face red raw from the wind and hail stones

Hair stuck to Me like glue

Mascara running down my cheeks

Feet swimming in my boots

This all before I even reached the end of our street but I soldiered on, making my way to the PO, still smiling untill some absolute idiot decided to drive a little too fast through a rather large puddle.
Boy, did I lose it then, screaming and shouting (think old fish wife 'hehe') with my bestie doubled up laughing and by this time, even my undies were wet.
Finally making it to the PO, I'm sure Royal Mail ripped me off big time, I don't think I've ever paid so much for parcels, courier service from now on Me thinks!

Not a great start to my day but my bestie did treat Me to Hot Chocolate and lunch!

Once home after stripping off at the front door (inside not out) I treated myself to a hot luxurious pink fizzy *LUSH* bath,  steaming mug of tea in hand, all that was missing was my book, always a little scared of getting the pages wet though.
What a treat to have in the middle of the afternoon!

I normally love Winter but am in despoerate need of a little Sunshine at the moment, not much chance of that at the moment so am going to make do with this tutorial  from the Red Velvet Art girls for this super cute pillow....................................................

and I think a little play on this with my kiddies later will give us a much needed giggle!

it's just a shame that the lights that are tucked behind have decided not to work.............................GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I have received two more lovely gifts from my advent partner Sue.......................................

DAY 11..........................................

Beautiful buttons.....................................

aren't they beautiful?

Brown paper pressies!

I had a great night with my bestie last night, our girls joined us so lots of giggling and silliness, a perfect night.

Our chosen film was.................................

Being Studio Ghibli season on film 4, this seemed an obvious choice for us and such a sweet film too.

I'm very much looking forward to Princess Mononoke tonight!

By the time I got home it was rather late, so no present wrapping got done.

A long soak in a hot bubbly bath, a little time with my man then it was off to bed for Me with Januarys edition of Country Homes and Interiors and what delightful bedtime flicking that was.
I fell in love with this gorgeous paper stocking................................

and now wondering if I'll be able to find time to make one or two.

I think they'd look lovely in mini version too, maybe with a little note popped inside and used as a gift tag and definately as an advent (certainly an idea to store away for next year).

With my Man and little man upstairs watching 'UP' this afternoon, I've managed to get a little wrapping done, although my idea of stamping didn't go quite to plan so 'brown paper and doilies' it was...........................................................

I also covered a little exercise book...............................................

All ready to jot ideas down for next Christmas, one of them being................................pretty covered notebooks tied up with string!

Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!

Advent Swap!

WOW, are we really on Day 10 of the dvent swap already?

I'd like to thank my darling friend Lynda for organising this again this year, it has been so much fun!

I was fortunate enough to be paired with the lovely Sue from The Krafty Cupcake and have received some fantastic gifts so far.

The last few days I have opened.................................

Day 8.....................................................

Far too pretty to blow my nose in 'hehe'

Day 9................................................

Day 10......................................

Beautiful fabric, I love that it has a real Christmassy look to it but could also be made into something to have out all year round.

Thank you so much Sue for being such a kind and generous partner!

I'm off out to my Bestie's later for a bit of a girly night..................................... Christmas dvd and lots of chocolate!

I'm not very much looking forward to the very cold walk home later though but I'm sure a quick phone call to my Man will have a yummy hot chocolate awaiting Me!

I'm hoping once home (if not too tired) to make  start on my Christmas wrapping, I'm armed with brown paper, paper doilies, stamps and ink pad so will be back tomorrow with piccies!

Have a great evening!
